Shortly before the Rosh Hashana holiday, CIMI held one of its periodic meetings for members of the board, staff, volunteers, and friends. In the first half of the meeting, there was a Zoom call with Shirli Raysin Sasson, director of PIBA’s Bilateral Agreements Division, and representatives of NSDC, the Indian National Skills Development Corporation. The speakers discussed cooperation among the organizations, the process of recruitment in such a vast country as India, and the challenges associated with bringing skilled workers to Israel quickly.
In the second half of the meeting, the ambassador of the European Union to Israel, Mr. Dimeter Tzantchev, and the First Counsellor, Head of Cooperation Section, Eduardo Fernandez-Zincke, honored us with their presence. Ambassador Tzantchev spoke of trends and challenges in migration in Europe and the role of the EU in outlining policy on this important issue. He noted the humane values shared by CIMI and the EU and expressed hope that the Union’s relationship with Israel would help to advance the goals of protecting migrants’ human rights and creating a better society.
