In January, a significant meeting of the association took place, attended by board members, volunteers, and staff. The discussion focused on an in-depth analysis of Thai migrant workers and the impact of the war.
Several speakers presented diverse perspectives on the issue:
Daniel Porat, a clinical psychologist fluent in Thai, who has been supporting the Thai community in Israel for over a decade.
Dr. Yahel Kurlander from Tel-Hai College, an expert in migration, agriculture, and the labor market, who explained the migration corridor between Thailand and Israel.
Josh Lawson, Head of the Health and Foreigners Desk at the Hostages and Returnees Headquarters in the Prime Minister's Office, who addressed governmental aspects and the challenges faced.
Captain (Res.) Nurit Jessica Barkai Lieberman, Commander of the Desks Division in the Home Front Command's Information Branch, who provided insights into emergency response.
The meeting contributed significantly to a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by migrant workers and the communities around them. The association, together with its partners, aims to continue assisting migrant workers as much as possible while identifying solutions to the challenges raised during the discussion.
